Our Team

Our members are citizens with great experience and knowledge, as they have contributed to numerous missions in Greece and abroad. They share the same goals and the same vision: helping people in need, without exclusion or discrimination.

Elpida Efthymiatou

Elpida was born in 1954. She graduated from the Vocational School of Nursing Assistants of “Sotiria” Hospital. She worked as a nurse at “Laiko” Hospital since 1972 and for 20 consecutive years. In addition, from 1997 to 2004 she volunteered at the NGO “Doctors of the World”. She is one of MedIn’s founding, partner and Board members since 2004 and the Board President since 2014. Elpida Efthymiatou is highly appreciated by all members of the Organization and along with her valuable experience she has been tirelessly serving Medin’s work and vision.

Eliza Moysi

Eliza was born in 1978. She graduated from the Laboratory of Professional Journalism in 1998. Also, she is a bachelor graduate of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Marketing (Hellenic American University, 2012). In 1999 she worked as a reporter on the radio station “Communication FM”, in a daily cultural news program. Board member and Project Manager in a company responsible for receiving and transmitting orders at the Athens Stock Exchange (2000-2003). Manager of European Programs at Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (2003-2013), under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, for programs concerning the environment, lifelong learning, health education, and more. Since 2019, she is a registered member of Medical Intervention and Project Manager in unaccompanied minors’ shelter programs.

Jason Podimatas

Jason was born in 1985. He has a background in personnel management and administration. He started working in Medin in 2010 and since then he has gained extensive experience in European Program Management. At times and alongside Medical Intervention, he has been providing know-how and consulting to several organizations in the field. Jason became a partner in 2018.

Manos Kattoulas

Manos was born in 1972 and is a PhD Graduate in the Medical School of Athens University. A psychiatrist and psychotherapist (Cognitive-Behavioral Approach and Schema Therapy) and a former collaborator of the 1st Psychiatric Clinic of Athens University (Aiginiteio Hospital). Supervisor and Schema Therapy Trainer. Member of many Greek and International Medical Associations. Also a founding Member and partner.

Maria Mouktaroudi

Maria was born in 1972. She is pathologist, with a PhD in the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specializes in Infectious Diseases (Radboud University) and in Diabetes Mellitus. She works as a supervisor in the 4th Pathology Department of Attikon University General Hospital. Her written work consists of 40 foreign publications. She took part in national and international medical missions with Doctors of the World (1997-1999). Maria is one of Medin’s founders, a partner, and Board Member (2004-2019).

Giorgos Kalavrouziotis

Giorgos was born in 1964. A PhD graduate of Medical School of Athens University and a Pediatric Thoracic-Cardiac surgeon trained in England and Germany. He has been working at “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital since 1999, and as the hospital’s Director since 2006. Giorgos is a member of many Greek and International Medical Companies and a founding member of Medical Intervention, partner and Board Member since 2003 to this day (also served as President of the Board, 2011-2013).

Ioanna Alexia

Ioanna was born in 1986. She is a psychologist, graduate of Panteion University, trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy. Since 2017, she is a member of the European Association of Gestalt Psychotherapists. She has worked at Medin, at the Association “Together for Children”, at the Nursing Home “Estia Konstantinoupoleos”, at Penteli Hospital, at the Greek Association Against Epilepsy and at the Babel Day Center. In collaboration with various organizations, she has carried out teacher support groups, parent counseling, volunteer and employee support groups and psychoeducational activities with children and adolescents. She maintains a private clinic since 2013. Ioanna is a member since 2018.

Paraskevi Trampa

Paraskevi was born in 1986. She is a psychologist graduate of Panteion University, trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy. She has volunteered at Association “Together for Children”, at Nursing Home “Estia Konstantinoupoleos”, at the Municipality Polyclinic of Kifissia and at “Greek Association against Epilepsy”. She worked, as a freelance HR Consultant, from 2013 to 2017 and at the Nursing Home “Foinikas” from 2014 to 2017. Paraskevi has been working for Medin since 2015. She maintains a private clinic since 2014 until now. Paraskevi is a member since 2018.

Giannis Lichros

Giannis was born in 1948. PhD Graduate of Medical School in Athens and Ioannina. Clinical partner of London Chest Hospital (1984) and researcher at McGill university (1989-1991). He specialized in Pulmonology at Thoracic Athens Hospital (1975-1979) and served as a Supervisor in the Pulmonary Clinic (1981-1987) and as a Director at the Thoracic Hospital of Western Greece (1987-2010). Other positions: Former General Secretary of Hellenic Pulmonary Company. Founder and former chairman, for fifteen years, of the Committee of Southwestern Greece of the Hellenic Pulmonary Company. Former President of the Disciplinary Council of Medical Association of Patras. Medin’s partner since 2006.

Eftychia Koliou

Eftychia was born in 1992. Graduate of the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus. In 2021, she completed her master's degree in "Communication and Refugee/Migration Flows" at the Department of Communication and Media of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in "Communication management of refugee/migration flows”. During her studies, she completed her internship at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, and the NGO Hellenic Platform for Development. She has offered voluntary work at the Greek Council for Refugees. From January 2022 until June 2023, she was in charge of the Communications and Public Relations Office in Medical Intervention.

Eleni Gerolumatou

Born in 1990. She graduated from the Nursing Department of the Vocational School of the General Hospital of Patras "Agios Andreas". She has attended multiple training seminars on Human Resources Management, Practical Pediatrics, Food Safety Management Systems and Principles of Good Hygienic Practice. From 2011 to 2013 she worked as a private nurse at Patra's Hospital. She has offered voluntary work at the Social Care Center "N. Kamaratos", in cooking and creative workshops for minors. From 2017 until today, she has been working for Medin, as administrative coordinator at "Anatoli" Shelter for Unaccompanied Minors.

Mariagni Ellina

Mariagni was born in 1986 in Athens. A graduate of the Marketing and Communication department of Athens University of Economics and Business, she initially worked in the field of sales and marketing. In 2011, she became interested in the humanitarian sector after working in Medical Intervention and specifically in detention centers for migrants, and then completed her master’s degree in International Humanitarian Actions abroad. She worked in the United Kingdom from 2013 to 2018 in international humanitarian and development organizations, with an emphasis on research, evaluation and improvement for humanitarian interventions. From March 2019 to November 2022, she worked as an educator in the shelters for unaccompanied minors of Medical Intervention, while from July 2023 she is the organisation's Communication and Public Relations Officer.

Arianna Tsigkounaki

Arianna was born in 1991. She graduated in Sociology from the University of the Aegean. She has completed the specialization program in Counseling and Vocational Orientation (PESYP) of ASPAITE and at the same time completed additional training of refugees education. She has been working since 2017 with the refugee population, starting at the Reception Center of Samos as a case worker, until October 2022 where she worked as an educator in the Medical Intervention shelters for unaccompanied minors. From 2021 she has been training in Person-centered and Focusing-experiential Counseling and Psychotherapy.
